move all your data from the old computer to the new one.

transfer all your data between computers.
 Use the Migrator Tool to move QuickBooks Desktop and up to three company files to a
new system.
 Create a strong password for unlocking the transferred files on your new computer, and
make sure to write it down. You will only use this password once for the Migrator Tool.
 The tool will copy the last three company files you’ve accessed, along with related files,
onto a USB flash drive.

 Moving QuickBooks to another computer using the Migrator Tool, follow these
steps carefully to avoid issues like migration failures:
 Open QuickBooks.
 Go to the File menu.
 Select Utilities.
 Choose Move QuickBooks to another computer.
 Click I'm Ready.
 Create a one-time password and keep it safe—you’ll need it later.
 Follow the instructions to choose the USB flash drive to copy your files.
 Wait for the process to complete.

 Connect the USB flash drive to the new computer. Because of Windows security settings,
the Migrator Tool won’t start automatically.
 Open the flash drive to see what’s inside and double-click on
the Move_QuickBooks.bat file to launch the Migrator Tool.
 Input the password you set up earlier.
 After typing in the password, click on Let's Go.
 Be patient as the Migrator Tool works. It might take a while, depending on how fast your
computer is, your internet speed, and how large your company file(s) are.
 Note: If the Migrator Tool doesn’t start after you select and run the file, check for any
Windows updates and install them if needed.
 Wait until the process is getting complete.
 After that, the Migrator Tool will automatically clear the QuickBooks files from the USB
flash drive. However, the files will still be on your old computer. To avoid any confusion,
it's a good idea to rename the files on your old computer.
