Direction: The class will be grouped into 5. Together with their groupmates they will have to put the parts of a common research paper into the correct order by using numbers to represent the sequence. They will have to complete the task within 3 minutes and post their answer on the board. Guide Questions: - How do you find the activity? - Were you able to identify the sequence easily and correctly? - Are the parts of this paper familiar to you? - What would happen if you do not follow the proper sequence of doing a research paper? If no one has arranged the sentence, the teacher then gives a clue and gives another 2 minutes to answer. - The first group to answer the puzzle will be given points. The teacher will first discuss how to create a blog. Students will then brainstorm with their groups on the topic of their blog. rubric for grading will also be presented and discussed by the teacher. Activity Instructions: - Using different text structures, make a video blog or article blog featuring the most influential persons or important events, places, concepts, and ideas in your field of interest. If you want to do a video blog, add sub – title in the video to determine the text structures used. Post your blog in YouTube and send the link of the video to your teacher for assessment. If you prefer to do an article blog, write it in a separate paper and attach it here. Or you may submit a copy of article blog to your teacher in any platforms applicable. Students may choose from the following topics for their blog. 1. Make a blog featuring your day at home coping the challenges brought by the COVID -19 pandemic (for Academic Track Students) 2. Do a research and feature in a blog your favorite local artist (for Arts and Design Track Students) 3. Inspire others by sharing in a blog your home workouts that you do to keep healthy and fit while staying at home (for Sports Track Students) 4. Make a review blog on the specifications of cars or mobile phones from famous brands, or you may do a cooking tutorial blog (for TVL Track Students) B. ANALYSIS Activity: Graphic Organizer - With the same group, they will be tasked to create a graphic organizer depicting words that they can associate with “Academic Text” and “NonAcademic Text”. They will then explain their works afterwards. Activity: Fill it Out! - With the same group, they will be tasked to differentiate academic text from nonacademic text. They will fill out the table by giving corresponding description. Reading Selection Analysis: - Students will read the selection entitled ‘From the Autopsy Surgeon’s Report’. They will then pick – out at least five (5) academic terms used in the discipline and write their specific meaning. Guide Questions: 1. What does the author want to convey to the readers? 2. How does the author present his ideas? 3. What are the signal words used in the text? 4. How do the signal words helped in organizing the author's ideas? Students will go to their respective groups for brainstorming of their performance task C. They will be given time to brainstorm and discuss with their group. Afterwards, they will then present their topic in front. The teacher will provide feedback and guide students. They will be tasked to form a small circle within their group. The teacher will explain the mechanics of the game. Series of statements will be flashed on the screen, and they will be given 30-60 seconds to discuss the answer within their group. They will write and hold up their answers on a paper. If they are correct, their team will get the opportunity to shoot the correct response into the trashcan from a 1-, 2-, or 3-point line. If the shot is made, the team gets extra-credit. Shots will be made after ALL the questions have been answered.
