Kiana Soriano Prof. Jane ENGL 22000 2 May 2024 Ideal Reading Experience I need to have a very anticipated book in my hands. A book that I have found online recommended by strangers. The book has to be so immersive, that I feel as if I was watching a movie. Specifically a book that puts me to sleep and I end up dreaming about it and wanting to continue reading it the next day. But here's the catch—my schedule is jam-packed, leaving little time to read a book just for the bliss of it. Therefore, reading is like a reward for me at the end of a busy day. My ideal reading experience is quite simple. My phone has to be put aside and completely forgotten. I have to be freshly out of the shower, wrapped in warm sheets welcoming the night’s embrace. I sink into my bed with my pillow propped up against the headboard for good back support. I use my LED reading light that clips on to my book and put on the lowest level of brightness-- this gives a warm and gentle glow that’s easy on the eyes. Once everything is set up to my liking, I dive into the story, immersing myself completely and read until my eyelids grow heavy. This is the best part of my day because it feels like I’m treating myself to a bedtime story; soothing myself to sleep as I drift away from the world held within the pages.
