1.Before following the steps, make sure to have the installation file.
2.Close QuickBooks.
3.Open the setup file you downloaded( Setup_QuickBooks.exe).

5.Keep your product or license numbers ready.
6.Choose the installation type you want: “Custom” or “Network Options.”
: 7.Click “Next.” Avoid selecting “Express.”
Note: The Express option will overwrite your previous version of QuickBooks Desktop.
8.Choose the appropriate option and click “Next.” Both options will install the Database
Server Manager.
9. You should select the option below if you want to keep Database Server Manager and
QBDT on the server.
10.“I’ll be using QuickBooks Desktop on this computer, AND I’ll be storing our
company file here so it can be shared over our network.” This is the recommended
option.
11.If you only need the Database Server Manager, select “I will NOT be using QuickBooks
Desktop on this computer.”
12.Complete the remaining on-screen instructions and click “Install” when ready.
Note: QB will make a new Windows user for each QB DB Server Manager version. For
instance, Database Server Manager 2023 will be listed as QBDataServiceUser33.
13.Allow the QBDataServiceUserXX (where XX is the user number) permission to access the
folders containing your company files.
Note: Provide Windows admin rights and folder permission and configure your firewall
settings to avoid multi-user mode issues in QuickBooks.
Solution 2: Switch On hosting on the server computer
1. Open QuickBooks.
2. Navigate to the File menu.
3. Hover over Utilities to reveal the options.
4. Select Host Multi-User Access from the list.
5. Click Yes to confirm and activate hosting.
