and so does industrialisation :

Cons
Increases wealth of the country
Uses up resources
Makes goods
Creates waste
Improves the standard of living
Damages the environment
Air : Carbon dioxide released in the air as a waste
product.
Causes of
Industrial
pollution
Water : Waste materials from factories can escape into
rivers and lakes.
Visual : Large factories take up a lot of land, for work
and waste.Once closed the land is derelict.
Environmental : Destroys vegetation and wildlife.
Smell : Give off unpleasant smells.
Noise : Large vehicles carrying materials make a lot of
noise and cause traffic.
What can be done to reduce industrial pollution?
Education
Spend more money
- Spread awareness of the dangers of
pollution which can build up pressure on
industries and the government.
- Factories, and power stations producing
energy for industry, can reduce the
amount of smoke and gases they give out.
Unfortunately, not all industries and
governments have the money, or the
desire, to spend what little money they
have on stopping pollution.
