Is keeping a dog at home a good idea? Good morning, my beloved teacher and friends. First of all, I’d like to thank God for his kindness, so that I can stand in front of you to deliver my speech today. I'd also like to thank our English teacher and all of you for giving me this opportunity. In this chance, I will deliver a speech titled "Why it is good to keep a dog at home.". I really hope after you listen to my speech, all of you will start thinking about having a pet dog at home. For most people raising a dog at home is not something they can accept as the smell of dog poop and the scattering of fur can really drive them crazy. Moreover some kinds of dogs can act recklessly and make your house messy. The thing many people do not consider is that the advantages of having a dog at home can surpass the disadvantages. Dogs are cute, cheerful and faithful, so you can get live entertainment every day at home, plus a loyal friend. Having a dog at home can really make your day. Just imagine the warm feeling you have in your heart when you are about to open the door of your house because you know your best friend is looking forward to welcoming you home with its jumping around and licking your face vigorously. Now, having fur all around your house and a messy room is not a big problem any longer. To tell the truth, most of our family members do not welcome us as warmly as our dogs do. One of the most faithful friends a person can have is a dog. There are so many stories told about how faithful dogs were to their masters. I used to have a dog when I was a student. For me, he was not only a pet dog but also an attentive and faithful friend that was always ready to lend a sympathetic ear. It seemed to me he could feel what I felt. Dog owners can be very benefited by the presence of dogs in their homes. Dogs can help them relax and reduce their stress. Besides, a faithful friend is always there for you if you keep a dog at home. Thank you for your attention.
