Information about business operations Vocational guidance Suomi.fi for companies is the most comprehensive service for both potential and current entrepreneurs. The online portal is at your disposal at www.suomi.fi/company Free vocational guidance from TE Services will help you to assess the suitability of entrepreneurship as a career alternative. Book an appointment for personal guidance by calling 02950 41400 between noon and 2pm on Mon-Thu You can obtain information on starting a business, financing, responsibilities, obligations and developing a business. Work trials Planning for entrepreneurship See the ‘Planning and starting a business’ wizard at Suomi.fi and create your own workspace at My Enterprise Finland to obtain information tailored to your needs. The workspace is the best place to draw up a business plan, which you will often need when applying for training events, funding or start-up grants. https://oma.yrityssuomi.fi/en Enterprise Finland provides information and advice on general matters related to founding a business, via the service request form every Mon-Fri. One of our entrepreneurship guides, called www.perustamisopas.fi, is offered in various languages! You can test the suitability of entrepreneurship as an occupation for you by means of a work trial. Find an entrepreneur who could act as your mentor and contact the TE Office. You may be able to claim compensation for expenses incurred during the work trial. Training events for entrepreneurs When you have a business idea in mind, you should attend training to develop your entrepreneurial skills. You can apply for free training events for entrepreneurs on the TE Services website. Applications for this kind of support can be submitted by unemployed people, people planning to leave paid employment to start a business, or students, for example. All company types and industries are eligible. The TE Office assesses the need for support on a case-by-case basis. Conditions for granting support Duration and amount in 2018 The future business activities are, by nature, fulltime and permanent. The applicant’s capabilities are sufficient for the industry in question: training, work experience. A start-up grant is awarded in six-month periods, usually for one or two periods. The amount of support is: Sufficient capabilities for becoming an entrepreneur: experience or suitable training for entrepreneurship. A start-up grant is personal, taxable income paid for a maximum of five days a week. The business plan and various calculations are complete and have been deemed profitable (by the nearest Enterprise Agency, for instance). When you apply for a start-up grant: Financing, business premises, permits and the equivalent are already known; the applicant must have all of the prerequisites for setting up a company and launching business operations.
