Mike Lawrence Butala Taborlupa is currently a
bonafide student at Tarlac State University
taking the course of Bachelor in Secondary
Education Major in English.
The 20-year-old is a native of
Concepcion, Tarlac. He was born on October
03, 2002 to Marvin O. Taborupa and Irene B.
Taborlupa in Tarlac city, Philippines. He has
two elder siblings, namely: Marivic B.
Taborlupa and Mark Angelo B. Taborlupa, and one younger brother: Emmanuel
B. Taborlupa. They moved from one place to another due to his mother’s
demands in work until they situated permanently in Villa San Jose, Cutcut 1st,
Capas, Tarlac.
He finished his grade school in the school year 2013-2014 at Concepcion
North Central Elementary School where he was awarded the 19th place of the
class with medals of placing 3rd place on chess at division level. Then, he started
his secondary education in Benigno Simeon Aquino National High School. As he
strived for his studies, his grades gradually improved up until his 10th grade
where he was awarded with honors. Meanwhile, during his Senior High School
still in BSANHS he was elected as their class president. One significant
achievement of the class during his leadership was that everyone is an achiever.
Through rigorous teamwork and unity of the class on learning and tutoring one
another, each of them got to experience being awarded with honors. He finished
his Senior High School in Humanities and Social Sciences strand being awarded
with High Honor where his average is at 96.
Aside from school, he is also being trained in their church (Concepcion
Bible Baptist Church) as one of the youth leaders. He is a part of ministries from
cleaning, song leading, quartets, master of ceremonies, media team to soul
winning, outreach and bible studies. His life verse is found in the book of
Galatians, chapter two, verse 20 which states “I am crucified with Christ:
nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now
live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave
himself for me.”
Through the years of living, he accumulated various hobbies which became
his coping mechanism whenever he is stressed. These are playing chess, listening
to music (jazz and gospel genre), eating, sleeping, reading mangas, and watching
anime and Korean variety shows (running man).
At the present time, he aspires to graduate college with flying colors to
bring honor and pride to his parents’ goodness in his life. With this, he could
proudly say to his family that it’s worth the wait and sacrifices.
