Problem:
A 50cm3 sample of oil is to be compressed in a cylinder until its pressure is increased from 1 to 50 atm.
if the bulk modulus of oil is 1750mpa. find the percentage change in its volume.
Solution:
We know:
4.965x 106 pascals
k= Bulk modulus=1750x106
v= original volume = 50x cm3
Percent change in volume =Therefore percent decrease in volume = 0.284%
