Healthy eating has many benefits to
the mind and body, some being :
increased energy and mood, helps
boost immunity, and strengthens
bones, teeth while also keeping your
eyes healthy. Foods with
carbohydrates, fats and protein
contain lots of energy that our body
uses everyday. different foods
convert energy at different rates,
whole grains and unhealthy fats
supplying energy that helps last the
whole day. Nuts, plain yogurt, and
whole grains are all examples of
healthy foods to increase your mood
and energy. Eating healthy can also
help boost immunity as well.
Having a healthy diet by eating plant
based foods, fruits and vegetables
have been shown to support the
preservation of helpful microbes,
which help break down fibers into
short chain fatty acids, which appear
to energize immune cell activity. Not
only that, but having a balanced and
healthy diet helps strengthen your
bones and teeth while keeping your
eyes healthy. For your bones, foods
like spinach, soybeans, beef, certain
fishes, cheese, and other foods are
high in calcium and vitamin D, which
helps strengthen bones. The calcium
helps strengthen the bones while
vitamin D helps soak up the calcium.
While for your eyes, foods like green
leafy vegetables, nuts, fruits, eggs, and foods alike, have vitamin C,
vitamin E and more which have shown to reduce the risk of serious
eye diseases. As you can see, having a balanced and healthy diet
has many benefits and can improve your overall well being.
Tips to have a healthy diet
Drink tons of water
Water is essential for your body to survive and stay
healthy. Water is absolutely pivotal for every system in
your body. Every organ, tissue, and cell in your body
requires water to function properly. Water gets rid of
wastes through bowel movements, sweat, and urination,
helping your body to stay healthy.
Cut down on sugar filled foods and drinks
Cutting down on added sugar filled foods and drinks such
as deserts, candy, soda, fruit juices, and food and drinks
alike, has many benefits to your body. Such as, reducing
your risk of heart disease and liver disease, risk of
depression, and can help your heart be healthy. Instead of
eating sugary desserts, try fruits and nuts, a great snack
when you're hungry, and instead of soda or juices, try
drinking water and herbal teas which are not only delicious
based on your taste and are very good for your digestive
system.
Try snacking on fruits and veggies
Fruits and veggies are a great alternative to sugary and
unhealthy foods which have a variety of choices while also
being delicious to snack on. Strawberries, for example, are rich
in manganese and vitamin C that are good for your heart and
lower your blood pressure, while also being very yummy and
flavourful.
