They are balanced to static exposure. This makes things very easy to add new features, but makes it very complicated later. In the current state of AC/CSP, we have all those wanted things like night sceneries with additional lights. But to show those things, we made adaption after adaption, to let it look ok for night and day. Now, we lower the CSP lights to have them at the right level at day. This works for most of the tracks. But what if we have tunnels at a track? In a tunnel, the ambient light is nearly 0. So CSP lights should be fully evolved, but we have lowered them at day. So we need the next adaption. If a car drives into a tunnel, we need to raise those lights again. That’s where Pure changes the fundamental things. In Pure there are no lights adjustments anymore. This is possible, because sunlight and ambient light is much stronger and therefore CSP lights are much weaker at day. But now we need to adjust the exposure, what is a natural behavior! In the real world we must adapt to different light too. So for daytimes, the exposure is much lower, than in twilight and night times. Due to a better handling of Auto-Exposure (AE) in newer CSP build, we can use AE much better than before. I achieved a very well working AE control for Pure. In the picture below, you see the tunnel dilemma. If the car is not yet in the tunnel, lights are lowered. In Pure, the tunnel lights are active, but much lower, because of the bright sunlight outside. 2 Comparisons To show you the differences between Pure and Sol, here are some comparisons of Sol with static exposure and Pure (dynamic exposure).
