It cannot be moved easily. This box is too heavy to be moved easily. (b) If the subjects are not the same, use too ---- for ----to Structure – too + adj + for + obj + to + V1 Example – This box is very heavy. I cannot move it easily. This box is too heavy for me to move easily. II. Not ----- enough to / not ---- enough for ---- to (a) If the subjects are the same, use not ---- enough to Structure – not + opposite adj +enough + to + V1 Example – Mg Khin is very young. He cannot drive the car. Mg Khin is not old enough to drive the car. (b) If the subjects are not the same, use not ---- enough for ---- to Structure – not + opposite adj + enough + for + obj + to + V1 Example – This book is very difficult. I cannot understand it. This book is not easy enough for me to understand. III. By + Ving Structure – by + Ving Example – We can go to the school by walking. Tr. Lian Grammar IV. Emphasis Structure – It is/was + bold words/phrases + who/that If the given verb is V1, start with It is. If the given verb is V2, start with It was. If the bold word/phrase is person, use who. If the bold word/phrase is thing/place, use that. Examples (a) I don’t like the way he talks. It is the way he talks that I don’t like. (b) The boy discovered the money. It was the boy who discovered the money. V. Questions Making (a) Yes/No Questions Structure – HV + Subjects + V +-----? Helping Verbs (HV) Verb to be – am, is, are, was, were Verb to have – have, has, had Verb to do – do, does, did Modal Verbs – can, could, shall, should, will, would, may, might, must Examples (a) I am going to school on foot.
