ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
INTRODUCTION
Hello, I’m grateful
you’re here.
As an Animal and Nature Communicator, I
raise awareness, understanding and
appreciation of intuitive interspecies
communication and its benefits -- for
families, animals in care (shelters and
sanctuaries), wildlife and Nature -through activism and advocacy.
My work includes speaking, educating,
writing, mentoring & hosting events which
raise communication awareness, human
consciousness, and funds for ethical
animal, wildlife and Nature organizations.
Located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada,
I'm helping to build a world in which
all beings co-exist peacefully and
respectfully: where every voice is
represented and recognized.

ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
CHAPTER 1
Dear Animal Lover,
Welcome!
Animal communication makes a
difference: to you, your animal family, and
the quality of your lives.. together.
People love their animal family and may
reach out to animal communicators when
they need help understanding their
animal’s new or on-going behavior.
Communication in any relationship is key,
especially when it's between two different
species with unique perspectives and
needs!
True communication allows all parties an
opportunity to share.
You can ask questions and seek
confirmation about what you’re sensing.
There are limitless ways animal
communication can help support you and
your animal family, including behavioral
challenges.
You may have adopted from an animal
shelter, humane society, or rescue.
Animals go into care for many reasons.
They may have been surrendered by their
person, neglected, abandoned, abused or
taken away from their mother too early.
Some animals adapt and others are left
experiencing fear, stress and anxiety.
Through animal communication you can
learn about your animal’s needs and what
helps them to feel safe.
Your animal family can share information
that you may not know or have considered.
Together, you can decide how to move
forward in a mutually beneficial manner.
Animal communication is never about
telling an animal what to do, it is never
about control.
Communication honors each being, the
relationship and the needs of all involved.

ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
CHAPTER I (CONTINUED)
You may have a cat (or cats) that urinate (or defecate) outside the litter box.
Elimination outside litter boxes can result in additional clean up time (even costly repairs).
It often leads to frustration and resentment towards the cat, and can even result in cats
being surrendered to animal shelters (which may put them at risk of being euthanized).
Litter box issues are a common reason why people reach out to professional animal
communicators.
Animal communication can help with litter box issues (whether the cat is urinating,
spraying, or defecating outside their litter box), helping you to understand the situation
from the cat's perspective.
A visit to the vet's first to rule out medical causes is always recommended (prior to
seeking animal communication) as 50%+ of litter box issues are medically based.
During animal communication, it's also helpful to review whether litter box management,
behaviour (usually territorial issues) and/ or soul contracts that we share with our animals,
may be at play.
Whether you need help with separation anxiety, chewing, barking, jumping up, destruction
of property, urinating or marking outside the litterbox, animal communication can help!

ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
CHAPTER 2
About Animal
Communication
Animal communication, or intuitive
interspecies communication (IIC), is a
universal language shared between all
beings, with all Life.
Intuitive interspecies communication isn't a
special gift reserved for some.
The gift of intuitive interspecies
communication happens when it becomes
an integral part of our everyday lives.
Humans are also an animal species and
part of Nature.
We are all born with the natural ability to
speak with all Life, with many forgetting this
ability to communicate as we grow up.
It’s possible you’ve already had an
experience with animal communication!
If you live with (or have lived with animals)
it's likely you've already had an experience
of animal communication (and not called it
animal communication).
Many animal lovers minimize their existing
capacity to understand their animals.
If you need help, reach out to a
professional communicator for support,
education and tips for you and your animal
family.
It's more of a re-Member-ing or reawakening to the Natural World.
Due to societal conditioning, many people
struggle with trusting their intuition and
being able to discern between linear
(thinking mind) and non-linear information
(intuitive mind).
As with any language, practice increases
your fluency with animal communication!

ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
CHAPTER 3
The Benefits of Animal
Communication
Intuitive interspecies communication
can support you and your animal family
all by speaking with your animal family
directly.
Communication offers support for the
whole family with all life stages, whether
you're adopting an animal, discovering
more about your animal family as they
grow, learning about their end of life
preferences, or speaking with them after
they've transitioned.
And yes, communication can definitely
help and provide support for behavioral
challenges!
Communication deepens the bond and the
confidence of animals and their human(s),
every step of the way.
Animals love being heard. They appreciate
being consulted. Their needs truly
understood and supported. Let them help
you... to help them. Hear what they have to
say. Get the whole story.
Communication offers a deeper
understanding to all involved and is often
accompanied by feelings of relief,
compassion, along with a renewed
commitment to the relationship.

CHAPTER 4
A Professional
Communicator’s Role
What does a professional animal
communicator do?
The role as a professional animal
communicator is to facilitate
communication between animal(s) and
their human(s).
Animal communicators do not diagnose or
treat your animal family. Animal
communication is not a replacement or
substitute for medical or veterinarian care.
It's a privilege to support families and
honor all involved by relaying the messages
between all beings.
During a communication consultation
everyone speaks, everyone is heard,
everyone is supported (all species).
Consultations are private and confidential.
Questions to your animal family can be of
an emotional, mental, spiritual or
practical nature.
You're also encouraged to share messages
with your animal family... something you
want them to know: a reassurance,
gratitude, appreciation, or feeling.
Many professional animal communicators
honor the Code of Ethics for Interspecies
Telepathic Communicators formulated in
1990 by Penelope Smith of Animal Talk.
You may also find the reading the 10 Things
You Need To Know Before Hiring An Animal
Communicator helpful (written by Val
Heart).
Communication honors the bond you share
and often deepens your connection.
Consultations support you, your animal
family, support you to help your animal
family, and help your animal family to
support you!
Communications can be emotional given
the deep bond we share with our animal
family.

ADDRESSING BEHAVIORAL CHALLENGES THROUGH ANIMAL COMMUNICATION
CHAPTER 5
A Multidisciplinary
Approach
Just as we might need professional help to navigate complex situations in our human lives,
this can also be true with our animal family.
As I shared in my summit interview with Dr. Cara Gubbins, there are limitations to animal
communication.
While communication is foundational to building trust in any relationship, there are
situations including behavioral challenges which can benefit from working with other
professionals (a multidisciplinary approach).
Professional help can include a veterinarian who can determine whether there are any
underlying medical issue(s) which could be affecting your animal family’s behaviour.
Other professionals who could be part of your animal family’s behavioral team may include
an animal behaviorist, trainer, and/ or animal healing practitioner.

CHAPTER 5 (CONTINUED)
A word about animal trainers.
Do your research.
Outdated approaches are still used to train animals which incorporate disproven beliefs, as
well as practices of pain and submission by fear.
These old approaches only exacerbate the behavior (and can affect your animal’s trust in
you).
The directories and links included in this resource guide for animal behaviorists and
animal trainers are not an endorsement.
You are encouraged to do your own research.
The directories and links are also not an exclusive list of support that is available.

Recommended Animal
Communicators
My communication consultation
calendar is closed until further notice to
focus on intuitive interspecies
communication activism and advocacy
work.
I’m sharing a list of my animal
communicator colleagues, who I know and
recommend, who support families with
behavioral challenges (listed in alphabetical
order by first name).
I encourage you to do your own research:
learn about them, read reviews, and learn
how they work.
Trust yourself and your intuition when
choosing an animal communicator.
All the recommended animal
communicators work globally and
remotely.
They do not need to be present with your
animal family to communicate with them.
If you reach out to them, or book their
services, please feel free to share that I
recommended them, thank you!
I would include my colleague Wynter
Worthorne of Animaltalk Africa on this list,
though her website shares she “... is

Eleni Gkikakis, Founder and Facilitator of Interspecies Peace
"Eleni’s ability to act as an intuitive bridge between humanity, and Nature began with her
first spoken words – a conversation with the flowers in her family garden.
For over two decades, she's been dedicated to deepening her Interspecies
Communication practice and to continue to offer the world the foundations for
Interspecies Peace.
As a lifelong sacred activist and advocate for animal welfare she is actively involved in
numerous conservation projects in Africa, such as the Global White Lion Protection Trust,
AnimalSpirit, The Jane Goodall Institute, the Linda Tucker Foundation, and independent
peacemaking groups such as L.I.O.N. (Love Is Our Nature), as well as Greek and European
wildlife and domestic animal sanctuaries.
In 2019, she graduated from the Academy for LionHearted Leadership, igniting her desire to
set up the Interspecies Peace Foundation, to encourage and assist others on their own
journeys for interspecies peace.
Eleni’s work through the Interspecies Peace Foundation is focused on reconciling and
restoring human and non-human relations. She envisions and works towards a world free
of geographical, cultural, social, or ecological barriers; a world free of fences and borders.”

CHAPTER 6 (CONTINUED)
Kristen Houser, Fauna Speak
Human Intuitive Communicating with the Animals in Form and Spirit
“I began remembering my ability to communicate with the animal kingdom in 2015. My
teachers ranged from lineaged human communicators to matriarch orca to wildflowers and
Tibetan yaks dwelling in the foothills of my old Kentucky home. My curiosity and heart for
this field of connection has only grown since, blossoming into my wildest dream. Every day
the vision I held in my heart since childhood comes true: to speak and be friends with the
animals.
The animals (fauna) prompted me to explore further applications of telepathy, the nature
of energy, and other senses that were dormant. I witnessed that regenerative growth is a
patiently nurtured seedling. And that many of the solutions we seek, from conservation to
connection, are available to us when seeking them from a place of relationship.
I now live beside the Salish Sea, home to such inspiring beings; from curious selkie seals to
the orca who have been my guiding light all along. You can most often find me beneath the
fruit trees with my cat best friends, filming medicinal creatures I meet or swimming in the
sea.
It’s a deeply nourishing joy to assist in bridging the perceived 'divide' between human
society and the natural world through conversation and collaboration. The inseparability of
human and animal sovereignty is the cornerstone of my work, fostering both dialogue and
action that assists in balancing ourselves, our human networks; our animal relationships
and ecosystems.”

Laura Marjorie Miller, O Best Beloved Animal Communication
“Consulting for Peaceful Households, & Excellent Zoos and Sanctuaries. Searching for
understanding of what an animal in your care is going through? With a deeper
understanding, we all can move forward together.”
“I’m Laura Marjorie Miller.
I’m a professional animal communicator and O Best Beloved is my company. I achieved my
professional certification through AnimalTalk Africa, an academy based in Cape Town. I
chose the program for it includes wild as well as domesticated animals because I want to
be versatile and able to serve as many different kinds of animals as possible—and for its
rigorous peer review and high code of ethics. Since then, I have worked with wild animals in
sanctuaries around the globe—with primates and tigers!, in addition to people’s beloved
dogs, cats, horses, and rabbits.
I chose this path after a successful career as a features writer because instead of writing
about animals from outside and hoping people would listen, by becoming an ‘AC’ I could
actually help bridge the gulf that has tragically divided humans from other animals—to help
humans understand the animals in their lives and in their care, and also to reawaken
everyone’s unique intuitive gifts so that eventually ACs like me will be unnecessary. I
choose to embody the change I wish to see in the world. In order to keep my practice of
greatest service and grounded in material reality, I also get my hands dirty as a dedicated
wildlife rehab and shelter volunteer.”

“I’m an animal communicator, and I’m also a consultant. You will always receive that extra
step as part of your consultation. If you’re having problems understanding why your
animal friend is behaving, reacting or responding the way he or she is, I can help. I can ask
him or her questions and get answers, relay messages for you and provide counselling to
your animal friends if needed. I will make sense for you what’s going on, AND you’ll also
receive the information, tools and resources you can use to help your animal be happier,
find stronger balance and be a great family member! Your connection and understanding
of each other will improve and your relationship will deepen in leaps and bounds through
this process.”
“AN EARLY LOVE AFFAIR
I’ve loved animals and have felt close to them for as long as I can remember, admiring the
intelligence and magnificence of these creatures so tuned in to the wisdom of the
Universe.
My love affair includes all of Nature – the trees and grasses, clouds and rocks – and as a
child I would spend hours communing with, even just watching, the birds, chipmunks,
squirrels and butterflies that visited my yard (and I still do!)
On my way to school, I would make ‘heart’ and eye contact with all the cats in their front
yards, on porches and in windows, sending them silent, loving greetings. And relaying quiet
greetings to the birds in the trees.” Read more

Recommended Animal
Healing Practitioners
Animal communication and healing are
complementary modalities.
In working with families, there are situations
where I recommend healing practitioners.
If an animal shares about being previously
neglected, abused, or surrendered, I
recommend the family consider working
with a healing practitioner.
Other situations where healing may be
recommended include:
when an animal is adapting to a new
home
is being introduced to new animal
family member(s)
about to have surgery (or recovering)
experiencing an illness
or experiencing behavioral challenge(s)
In my experience, animals benefit the
most when their human family is involved
and also participates in the healing
session(s).
Animals are always communicating with us.
This doesn’t mean we’re doing something
wrong. It’s an opportunity for all of us to
learn, evolve, and receive support.
I’m sharing a list of animal and human
healing practitioners, who I know and
recommend, who support families with
behavioral challenges.
I encourage you to do your own research:
learn about them, read reviews, and learn
how they work.
Trust yourself and your intuition when
choosing a practitioner.
All the recommended animal and human
healing practitioners work globally and
remotely.
They do not need to be present with your
animal family (or you) to offer healing.
If you reach out to them, or book their
services, please feel free to share that I
recommended them, thank you!
They may be bringing us into awareness,

Aversive approach to training (LIMA)."
“Our members share a philosophy and
approach that honors dogs and our
connection to them. We oppose methods

of their natural instincts. We believe
understanding how dogs view the world

our relationships with them.”
