Lens Development for Moj/MojTT Camera ● Reset lens on recording: Each and every lens needs to be resetted when the user starts recording. ● Currently the camera kit is supporting Lens Studio Version 4.7.2 and below. Link for older Lens Studio versions. ● Try to keep Lens below 2.5 mb of size to make it run smooth on high as well as low end devices. Optimise assets as per lens studio guidelines. Link ● Media Picker is not yet compatible with camera kit. ● While working with screen images/UI components on lens studio ○ Pin the image at least on all the sides ○ Always keep screen region to full frame ○ In case of multiple images under the same screen image, If they are related keep it as parent child hierarchy and not individual. ● Use of live and capture targets: Hints and other elements that are not supposed to be recorded are kept in live targets. ● Leaving space for hashtags: We need to leave space at the bottom of the screen. Almost 1/3rd of the screen is covered by hashtags, captions and app UI. So we need to design our lenses accordingly. ● Safe Area ● Adding custom hints: We don’t use default hints provided by lens studio as there are some complications with iOS. So, we use our own custom hints and animations to guide our users. Hints stay visible for 3-4 seconds then disappear or when the user starts recording. ● Zooming Issue on mojTT: Creator Video is extending after uploading the video. So Design a lens keeping this issue in consideration. Please refer below screenshot to understand it better. While Recording After Uploading it on TT ● Minified Script in Lens Studio: Due to some circumstances, some changes are required in the file, and having a minified script, or unminified version of the minified script poses problems in making relevant changes to the lens appropriate for our platform. It is important that the lens studio file has a readable & clean script as per lens studio standards. Refer screenshot. ● Muting User Audio in Lens Studio: Please make sure user audio is muted whenever it is not required or there is a brand song ingested in the lens, to avoid background noise in the video. This can be done by checking “Mix To Snap”.
