Jamaitha B. Astrero Master of Arts Major in Science (Thesis) – A.M. Date: April 27, 2024 1st Year – 3rd Sem (S.Y. 2023-2024) Week 1: Reporting The first reporter is Ma'am Irish, her topic is performance-based assessment in science. In performance-based assessment, we need observation, realistic, and handson laboratory experiments. The second reporter is Ma'am Joannah. Her topic is about the importance of performance-based assessment in science, and she discusses that it is important to apply the knowledge of science in our everyday lives to increase the engagement and motivation of learners and prepare them for the real world. The third reporter is Sir Larry Abando. His topic is performance-based assessment methods used in the classroom. He discusses the different types, like product-oriented, product-based activities, including laboratory output, process-oriented, and processbased activities, and I learn that the best way to do that is to use a performance example in a game-play tournament rather than a portfolio or journal because it evaluates the three domains of learning: psychomotor, cognitive, and affective. Fourth reporter is ma’am Christine Parinas her topic is about rubrics for performance based assessment I agree with ma’am Christina that before the teacher will not use rubrics for the learners instead they assess by their emotion and we need to use rubrics to be fair be equal and have a quality if we compare the analytic and holistic rubrics I must prepare holistic because it is easy to create and use.
