Guatemala is a part of Central America a region between North and
South America that’s covered with dense rainforests and incredible
biodiversity. Guatemala is between 13 degrees; 45 minutes and 17
degrees; 48 minutes north latitude (13˚45’ N - 17˚48’ N) and 88 degrees;
14 minutes and 92 degrees; 13 minutes west longitude (88˚14’W - 92˚13’
W).
Absolute location/geographic coordinates, of different geographic
points in Guatemala:
1. Volcan de Fuego (14˚28’ N, 90˚52’ W)
2. Mayan Ruins at Tikai (17˚13’ N, 89˚37’ W)
The physical environment includes things like the climate, the landforms,
or the rivers and waterways. Guatemala is a mountainous country with
both recently active and long dormant volcanoes that have provided rich
fertile soil.
BANANAS
Bananas need to grow at a temperature between 20˚- 35˚c (68 ˚- 95 ˚F),
~170cm (~67in) rainfall and soil rich in potassium. However, in
Guatemala, there is a temperature between 18˚ - 35˚c (64 ˚- 95 ˚F), ~70
– 200cm (~28 – 79in) rainfall and volcanoes which spew rocks rich in iron,
magnesium, and potassium.
