WIRING DIAGRAM USING CAD
Learning Outcome:
Understand basic commands of AutoCAD Electrical to create a 3 phase motor power
circuit and an electronic circuit using different AutoCAD Electrical tools.

AutoCAD Electrical 2022
Theory:
Computer aided design (CAD) is a computer technology that designs a product and
documents the design's process. CAD may facilitate the manufacturing process by transferring
detailed diagrams of product's materials, processes, tolerances and dimensions with specific
conventions for the product in question. It can be use either two-dimensional or threedimensional diagrams, which can then when rotated to be viewed from any angle, even from
the inside looking out.
.
Procedure:
1. Create a folder in the desktop and rename it using your index number.
2. Create a new Drawing files under a new project
3. Name the project as AutoCAD E. L02 and save the drawings as Star-Delta Power
Circuit and Simple Electronic Circuit.
4. By using appropriate commands, design the Star-Delta Power Circuit and the
Simple Electronic Circuit as shown in the Figure-01.
Use the following Commands in suitable manner
 Schematic Libraries, MLSTYLE, MULTILINE or ML, TEXT, RECTANGLE,
CIRCLE, LINE etc.
Discussion:
1. Briefly describe the AutoCAD Electrical software and mention the basic system
installation requirements for AutoCAD Electrical 2022.
2. Write how you insert another multiple wires from the existing multiple wires and
how you create a customized symbol in AutoCAD Electrical.
3. What are the advantages and disadvantages of AutoCAD Electrical?
