Although variously developed Neolithic cultures existed on the Korean Peninsula and on the Japanese archipelago, archaeological evidence in the form of worked stone and blades from the Paleolithic and Neolithic periods suggests an exchange between the early East Asian cultures and the early introduction of Chinese influence. This cultural interaction was facilitated in part by land bridges that connected Japan with the continent. Learning Competency with code Shows the relationship of the development of crafts in specific countries in East Asia according to functionality, traditional specialized expertise and availability of resources (eq. pottery, weaving, jewelry, and basketry). Nature has always been regarded as an element of utmost importance in East Asian countries. Landscape painting is regarded as the highest form of painting in China. Ancient Chinese paper folding emphasizes more in the making of hats and boats unlike in Japan where flowers, animals, birds, fish, geometric shapes, and dolls are the common models used in origami. There are six subjects/themes and three concepts ( earth, heaven, humankind) in the production of Chinese art. And in Japan, Japanese painting and printmaking depicts scenes from everyday life that are often crowded with figures and detail. This tradition began in the early medieval period under Chinese influence. Asia has a variety of festivals and celebrations. In China, Chinese New Year, Dragon Boat Festival, and Mid-Autumn Moon Festival are traditional holidays, while National Day is a holiday of the People’s Republic of China. In Japan, Japanese New Year, National Foundation Day, Children’s Day, O-bon, The Emperor’s Birthday and Christmas are popular. According to Japanese celebrate Buddhism’s O-born in midsummer, Shito’s Shichi-Go-San in November, and Christmas and Hatsumoude in winter together. In Philippines is also tagged as the “ Fiesta Country” because of its all-year-round celebrations nationwide. There is a very strong Spanish influence in their festivals, thus making the Philippines distinctively “ Western”, yet retaining its native Asian characteristics. Fiesta is the term used to refer to a festival. Most of these fiestas are celebrated in honor of the patron saint.
