Preventive Measures
List the controls measures required.
 Appoint only those workers who are
well trained and authorized.
 Educate all workers about safe
working environment.
 No one shall be in line of fire while
doing job or heavy equipment &
vehicle operation.
 Use only pre-inspected tools.
 Staff/workers must be inducted prior
to commence job.
 Trained and skilled workforce shall be
selected for safe and smooth
execution.
 Site specific hazards must be shared
to workforce i.e., heavy equipment &
vehicle operation.
 Only trained and assessed personnel
shall be deputed for power tools and
critical roles.

 10km/hr. speed limit shall be
maintained all the time.
 Flagman to escort all vehicles to
designated /Communicate traffic rout
layout to all drivers, operators, and
workers.
 Implement vehicle free zone and
pedestrian free zone as per traffic
layout plan.
 Educate all drivers about safe parking
of vehicles in case of an emergency.
 Inspect welding machine and power
tool for safe operation.
 Proved machine with earth leakage
circuit breakers.
 Entry of non-certified tools and
equipment not allowed.

 Keep extinguishing equipment in

 Wear long sleeved coverall, leather

 Enclose the hot work area through
fireproof & fire blanket tarpaulin.
 Ensure the worksite is free from
flammable / toxic material by safe
preparation.
 JSA & PTW must be available at site
 Welding equipment to be powered
off after the job.
 Make sure no spark or hot material is
present even after the job.
 Housekeeping of area should be done
after each job.
