Computers used diodes as transistor in early computers. The introduction of these microcontrollers marked a critical moment in the computer history. They revolutionized computers making it possible for embedded systems, IoT (Internet of Things), automated systems, and most importantly faster computers. Our computer's computing powers have been doubling each year for 25 years. They are now capable of handling massive datasets which was unthinkable 25 years ago. Soon, computers will step up in how they compute. They will start to use quantum mechanics, such as superposition, quantum entanglement, and quantum gates. They will revolutionize cryptography because of these quantum things. However, the quantum computers still have many limitations. They are very sensitive to external environments, and as such they are very prone to error. Right now, they only function just 1 or 2 degrees above absolute zero temperature. We still don't know what the future holds for quantum computers.
