Packback Reflection Response (2 full paragraphs required)
Participating in the Packback Discussion 02 on Climate Justice was a thought-provoking experience, and it was interesting to engage
with my fellow students on this crucial topic. One post that particularly sparked my curiosity was a discussion about the intersection of
climate justice and engineering ethics. It challenged me to think more deeply about how engineering practices can either contribute to
environmental injustices or help better them. This perspective underlined the importance of considering the ethical implications of
engineering decisions in a climate justice context. I also came across a post that challenged my viewpoint about the role of
consumers in sustainably maintaining and prolonging the lifespan of their cars. While manufacturers must create eco-friendly and
durable products, consumers play a vital role in how they use and maintain these products. This perspective highlighted that
sustainable practices are a shared responsibility, and consumers have the power to make choices that positively affect the
environment.
I spoke with students on Packback which allowed me to learn from their diverse viewpoints and gain a more comprehensive
understanding of climate justice. I would like to delve deeper into the policy aspects of climate justice and understand how
governments and international organizations are working to address these challenges on a global scale. To improve my curiosity
score in future discussions, I plan to actively seek out posts that challenge my existing perspectives and engage in constructive
debates to gain a deeper understanding of complex topics.
