Behavioral Styles

advertisement
A few weeks ago, I posted a personality test I took. The test was for the behavioural
styles of individuals. It helps you understand yourself better as an individual and it also helps
professionals understand people around them in the workplace. Understanding your
colleagues, employees in the workplace helps to facilitate team work because you can
understand the reason for their actions.
The behavioural styles are commonly referred to as DISC
D- Dominance
This is a person who is assertive and strong willed. They are result oriented and focus mostly
on time. They barely pay attention to others aside themselves and hardly listen to any ideas
aside theirs.
I- Influence
This person is extroverted, wants to be friendly with everybody. They are optimistic, high
spirited and open. They do most of the talking so they don’t pay attention or listen to other as
well. This kind of person finds it difficult to focus on tasks assigned to them.
S- Steadiness
They are loyal, introverted and good listeners. Although sometimes, they are not open to
change and they find it difficult to adapt. They try to avoid conflict as much as possible and
they are respectful.
C- Conscientious
They are mostly compliant and are very particular about accuracy, quality and efficiency.
They focus more on facts than people. They tend to be very private which makes it almost
difficult to build relationships.
Take a moment to sit back and reflect, understand the kind of person you are and embrace it.
Then strive to be a better version. Understanding people around you also is essential to
maintain a non-toxic work environment.
