Product Description Pineapple (Ananas comosus L.) is an edible member of the Bromeliaceae family and one of the most important fruits in the world. It also has edible fruit and is the most economically important plant in the Bromeliaceae family. It is a tropical plant known locally as "Pinya." The stocky stem, with tough, waxy leaves and large, sweet, yellow flesh encased in a tough, spiky shell, is characteristic of this fruit-bearing plant. Pineapples do not have an internal hard shell but a crown of stiff leaves. The final product is dried pineapple. Dried pineapple is a sweet, machine- or sun-dried fruit product popular in the Philippines. It is made from fresh and cleaned pineapples whose core has been removed. When eaten, it has a sweet, tangy flavor and a chewy texture. The raw pineapples are harvested, cleaned, and then dried for preservation. This process enhances the pineapple’s sweetness and makes it a delicious and convenient snack. Dried pineapple offers a concentrated source of nutrients, including vitamin C for immune support, manganese for bone health, and dietary fiber for digestion. Its antioxidants combat oxidative stress, while natural sugars provide a quick energy boost. It is a dried form of pineapple fruit. Fresh pineapple is cut into chunks and sundried. It has a very high sugar content, which keeps the fruit safe from getting spoiled. It is available in the market in chunks, slices, and even powder form. Supply Description Based on the historical data of pineapple production from 2019 to 2023, we noticed that there was a constant change in supplies, like an increase in supplies yearly due to some factors like change in demand or demand fluctuations and seasonal variations since pineapple is seasonal fruit, so their supply could vary throughout the year based on the growing season, which can also lead to more availability of raw materials. On the other hand, using the arithmetical straight-line method of projection, we noticed that there was a decrease in projected supplies through the year since the possible reason behind it is the increase in demand in that particular year. It was a decrease in projected supply yearly with approximately 670 metric tons from 806393.38 metric tons in 2024, followed by 805719.49 metric tons in 2025, 805045.60 metric tons in 2026, 804371.71 in 2027, and 803697.82 metric tons in 2028, and it has an average supply of 805045.6 metric tons accumulated for five years of projected pineapple supply production.
