Typhoon Yolanda November 8, 2013
The Philippines experiences an
average of 20 typhoons a year. Being
surrounded by bodies of water makes

(Pupils will answer)
Types of Weather disturbances
1. Storm – is a violent disturbance in
atmosphere marked by sudden
changes in air pressure and rapid air
movement.
Do you have an idea how these
storms happen?
2. Thunderstorms - Is a localized storm
cloud that produces thunder and
lightning. It is one of the most
common types of weather
disturbance that experience in the

depending on location where they
are formed.

the ocean, creating a massive
amount of water vapor.
Tropical cyclone are classified four

Tropical Depression – a cyclone
where a maximum wind blows
