THE PROBLEM
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to determine the Relationship of Stress on the Academic Performance of Second-Year
Mechanical Engineering Students at the University of Cebu Lapu-lapu and Mandaue. The findings will serve as
the premise for implementing an intervention program that will help students mitigate the negative effects of
Mental Health Issues and reduce the occurrence of Mental Health issues among students.
Specifically this study sought to address the following objectives:
1. What demographic profile of the respondent in terms of;
1.1 Age
1.2 Grade Point Average(GPA)
2. What are the stress level of the 2nd year BSME students that might affect their academic performance?
3.Is there a significant relationship between the academic performance and stress level of 2nd-year BSME
students?
4. Based on the findings, what recommendations could be proposed?
