Business - What Is It?
The term business refers to an organization or enterprising entity engaged in commercial,
industrial, or professional activities. The purpose of a business is to organize some sort of
economic production of goods or services. In the world of business, businesses can be both forprofit entities and non-profit organizations. Some organizations may be charitable or non-profit
in nature. The scope and scale of businesses can range from sole proprietorships to large
international companies.
The term business can also be used to refer to the effort and activities undertaken by individuals
to produce and sell goods and services at a profit for the purpose of making money.
