OUR MOTTO: Our motto is found in Mathew 18:19-20, “therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” OUR MISSION The mission of GMS is to carry out the gospel of Christ around the world through singing and preaching the word of God by faithfully dedicating our time, our talent and our resources while creating oneness among our Baptist members in order to save the lost ones and make heaven. OUR ACTIVITIES In order to promote godliness among ourselves and to enhance our understanding in the word of God as well as achieving our mission and objectives, the following programmes and activities were put in place; 1. The annual conference 2. Evangelism 3. Visitation 4. Annual leadership retreat 2 ANNUAL CONFERENCE We normally hold our annual Global Mission Singers (GMS) conference in May, in which the first conference held on 26th to 28th May, 2014 at First Baptist Church Hildi, Kauna Baptist Association under the topic ‘’Any three’’. It was organised under the leadership of Rev. Dauda Akuruk, the then Global Mission Director of mother conference and Rev. Joseph Bawa as the GMS adviser. The second conference held at Hossana Baptist Church Wadili, Mubi South Baptist Association, then followed by Alheri Gombi Association and round to the other associations. During our conference, we usually do inter-association competition, including Bible Quiz, Songs Competition, Offering Competition, Bible Studies, Teaching and other physical activities such as football and the likes. In addition to our annual conference, we do always attend annual Northern Conference every year with one association representing our conference, usually the association that take first position during our conference. The first Association to represent us in Gombe 2014 is Mubi Central Baptist Association. EVANGILISM As the key mission of the group, we usually go for evangelism once in a year, usually march in which the first evangelism took place in the year 2014 during the first conference held in Hildi, Kauna Association after the teaching received on ‘’any three’’ i.e we can evangelize anywhere, at any time, and to anybody. The second evangelism took place in March 2020 at michika in which many people gave their life to Christ. VISITATION This happens to be one of the greatest means of encouraging weak associations, as well as creating unity among our individual members. In the year 2021, we visited Kauna Association which happens to be the weakest association in GMS activities in the conference. Other visitations were carried out individually and officially due to recent country’s situations, including the pandemic and the current economic unstability. 3 LEADERSHIP RETREAT To ensure effectiveness in leadership and impartation of bible-based knowledge and right attitude in leaders, the group are giving regular training to leaders to enrich their knowledge and skills as well as prepare them for the work. The retreat usually take place on the first month of the year, in which the first annual leadership retreat started on 26th to 27th January 2018 in which the following topics were treated; Unity in Christian leadership in the church, poultry farm and fish farming by conference president of the then, Rev. Zechariah J. Ako and Dn. John Yakubu of Haske Baptist Church Lokuwa. the second retreat took place on 25th to 26th January 2019 while the third took place on 11th to 12th January 2020. Topics treated at the second and third retreat include; Hepatitis, meat hygiene, autonomy of Baptist local church, duties and responsibilities of leaders and GMS history by Rev. Amos Misak Babale, Dn. Michael Rugo and Vincent Audu. while at the third retreat, topics treated include; grace for the race, church leadership and business/entrepreneurship by counsellor Yusuf Daniel Jauro, Rev. Nathaniel Barry of Golden Gate Baptist Church Madanya and Mr. Manasah of EYN No. 1 mubi. The retreat was unable to after then due to other clashing programs and the other reasons not mentioned here. PROGRESSIVE ARCHIEVEMENT To the glory of God, Global Mission Singers in Fellowship Conference is growing in leaps through the help of the Holy spirit and efforts of both the past and present leaders. Looking back from the starting point, it is clearly seen that there is a great improvement in the number of associations participating, starting from three associations. We now have ten associations participating, including Antioch Association, Alheri Gombi Association, Beulah Association, Bishara Association, Kauna Association, Michika Association, Mubi Central Association, Mubi South Association, Salama Gombi Association and Zion Association. We now have more than five thousand members in Global Mission Singers. In the aspect of Evangelism and instruments, we were able to have our own few instruments including generator, speakers, wires and bulbs, drums and some other few instruments which makes it easier for us to carry out our mission. We also support our modern conference annually with some amounts in support of 4 evangelism. Through Global Mission Singers, many souls were won for Christ and many individual Christians were revived. PRESENT DAY LEADERSHIP It is all known that without followers there will be no leadership, therefore, with the rapid growing of Global Mission Singers in Fellowship Conference, the need for the good leadership is inevitable.
