YUSUF
MODEL OF A
PINHOLE
CAMERA
• THEME: HOW WE SEE THINGS
DUE DATE: FRIDAY 28TH FEBUARY 2024
CORE SUBJECT: SCIENCE
SCIENCE/ART
• Utilize the limited item to craft anesthetically pleasing model of a pinhole camera. Discuss the
principles of a pinhole camera and draw parallels to how we perceive things through our eyes.
Highlight parts and functions of human eyes.( A pinhole camera is a simple optical device that uses a tiny
aperture (or "pinhole") to project an inverted image of the outside world onto a photosensitive surface inside
the camera. The basic principles include:)
1. Light Intake: Light from the scene outside enters through the small pinhole.
2. Image Formation: The light rays pass through the pinhole and create an inverted image on the opposite
side of the camera.
3. Sharpness: The smaller the pinhole, the sharper the resulting image, but too small a pinhole can lead to
diffraction effects. (Light Intake, Lens Function, Image Processing).
• Parts of human eyes and function.
• Cornea, Pupil, Lens, Retina and Optic Nerve.
NUMERACY
• List the properties of the shape of your pinhole camera and take their
measurement.
• The pinhole camera is the simplest kind of camera. It does not have a lens. It just
makes use of a tiny opening (a pinhole-sized opening) to focus all light rays within
the smallest possible area to obtain an image, as clearly as possible. The simple
image formed using a pinhole camera is always inverted.
• Formula: d^2 = 2.44 * L * f.
• Measurement: the diameter of my pinhole camera is 0.230 mm.
LITERACY
• Write a poem of three stanzas with the title “My eyes”.
• In the depths of night, my eyes do see, A world of wonders, both near and far. They capture
moments, forever free, Reflecting the beauty, like a shining star. With every blink, a story unfolds,
Emotions captured, in every glance. Through joy and tears, my eyes behold, The essence of life,
in a cosmic dance.
• They mirror the colors of nature's art, From vibrant sunsets to morning dew. With each new sight,
they play their part, In painting memories, both old and new. So, cherish your eyes, for they are a
treasure, Windows to the soul, revealing true delight. They hold the power, beyond measure, To
see the world, in all its glorious light.
• Through my eyes, emotions come alive, They reveal the depths of my heart's dive. In laughter
and tears, they find their expression, Conveying love, hope, and every impression. So, cherish
these windows, these portals of sight, For they hold the magic of life's delight. In my eyes, a story
forever unfolds, A testament to the wonder's life beholds.
QUR’AN & KUI
• Write the English translation of any verses of the holy Quran that talks about:
• i. The eyes
• ii. Light.
• Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a
niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly
[white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the
west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah
guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and
Allah is Knowing of all things." (Quran, Surah An-Nur, 24:35).
GEOGRAPHY
• Discuss the principles of day and night resulting from earth’s rotation.
•
The principles of day and night are a result of the Earth's rotation. As the Earth
spins on its axis, different parts of the planet are exposed to the Sun's light. When a
particular region is facing the Sun, it experiences daylight, creating daytime.
Conversely, when that region rotates away from the Sun, it enters the shadowed
side, resulting in darkness and nighttime. This rotation of the Earth gives us the
regular cycle of day and night that we experience every 24 hours. It's pretty
amazing how our planet's movement shapes our daily lives.
PSHE
• With your knowledge of belonging to a community, highlight the importance
• of streetlight in the community.
•
It provides safety and security by illuminating the streets, making it easier for
people to navigate at night. It helps prevent accidents and deters crime by keeping
the surroundings well-lit. Additionally, streetlights contribute to a sense of
community and enhance the overall aesthetics of the neighborhood. They create a
welcoming and inviting atmosphere, allowing residents to feel more comfortable and
connected. So, having streetlights in the community is definitely- important for
everyone's well-being and peace of mind.
