Social workers provide assessment and intervention services for prisoners. They conduct individual counseling, provide treatment assignments for appropriate programs, assess at-risks prisoners and facilitate group programs. All designed to enhance and support rehabilitation. Social workers address the factors associated with offending behavior and assist with daily life especially within prison environments. Psychologists Stress, depression, substance abuse and mental disorders are common among inmates. The role of a correctional facility psychologist is to help these people get their lives back on track and prevent them from committing further crimes. Correctional psychologists use their skills to prevent self-harm and suicide, assess offenders with intellectual disabilities and conduct mental health evaluations. Inmates often have suicidal or homicidal ideation. Some may intend to hurt others or fantasize about crimes. As correctional psychologist, it's your responsibility to understand their triggers and correct their behavior. Religious workers The Spirit Care Directorate is determined to boost its impact in community corrections through partnership and empowering chaplains on their role in offender rehabilitation and social reintegration. It's mandate clearly dictate a need for engagements with faith-based organizations to ensure provision of integrated and holistic rehabilitation programs to the offender. These partnership assist the department to expand its teaching taking care of offenders inside correctional facilities and beyond Educationist Education programs are among the many programs offered by correctional services to prepare offenders to become productive and law abiding citizens. Correctional services also makes provision for community involvement in delivering correctional services. The department must provide or give access for a full range of programmes and activities that are practicable to meet the educational rehabilitation needs of sentenced prisoners.
