I only speak English during class time. You can ask questions in Korean before or after class. • Activity Based: We will have many activities in our class. Please be ready to participate. Class Rules • Please come to class on time. Do NOT be late!! I will call attendance right on time. • If you come in while I am calling attendance, you are not late. Just let me know. • Do NOT leave the room during class. Go to the restroom before/after class. Drink water before/after class. Leaving the room bothers the entire class. • I will close the back door if students frequently leave the room while class is in session. • Bring a PEN or PENCIL!! Excused absence steps (공결신청 순서) • Excused absence allowed: illness, family emergency, major field trip/events • How? 1. Send me a message via e-campus before the event. Or let me know in class. 2. Apply for excused absence (공결 신청) via SMART attendance after my approval. • Sick absence rules: Minor illnesses (e.g., light colds, headaches) will not be accepted as excused absence (공결). • If you frequently apply for excused absence it will be declined (반려). Breaking the ICE Life’s High Points & Low Points • What has been the high point and low point of your life so far? • Think back starting from last year, high school, middle school, elementary school. • When were you happy? • When were you sad or angry? Drawing a Life Graph/Life Map • 1. Develop a life graph from i) birth to now or ii) the past ten years of your life (2014.3-2024.3). • 2. In groups, explain your life graph to your group members. Life Map/Graph 1: Key Moments • Start your life map with the day you were born. • Record the dates of key moments in your life in time order. • Draw each event to help you remember it. • End your life map with the present day. Life Map/Graph 2: High Points/Low Points • Set a time in your life you want to record • Think of the on a scale of -5 to +5, think of the high points and low point in your life • Write a description or draw a picture Life Graph Submission • Paper folks -> Give it to me at the end of class • Tablet folks -> Upload on e-campus before next class March 7 (Thursday), 1:00 pm.
