ADHD

Have you experienced that? You remembered something that you have to do then forgot what were you
doing at that moment of time unnoticeably? Because I certainly have. We may think that it is
uncommon, but did you know that 8 out of 10 people have this habit? But there are people who do this
more severely. For example, one time I was out on a date, we talked, and then suddenly she was dazing.
I was waving my hands towards her saying, “hello, hello” and then, she snaps back “Ohm, sorry where
were we?”. And I noticed that she was doing these types of things so asks “I notice you’ve been dazing
off quite often” and she replied, “oh yeah I have ADHD”. For those of you who don’t know ADHD
means it stands for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, in a simple manner, it means that a person
has a short attention span. But I like to call it dopamine Attention variability executive dysfunction or
DAVE.
My friend Michael and I were walking when his ex walked right past us "Hey mike, isn't that your ex?",
he replied, "yeah..." he stayed silent for some time then I asked, "what's up with you, didn't you break up
with her 3 years ago?" and he replied, "remember when I put my phone on my drawer then I forgot that I
put it in the drawer? well you just pulled her out on the drawer". (And I was like “shit that works on
emotions too?”) I was speechless. this 'out of sight out of mind' principle that an ADHD-diagnosed
person has worked on emotional control like grief, anger, sadness, or pity as well.
A person with this disorder also has a peculiar habit of finishing less important tasks excellently rather
than finishing the more important ones. I was at my grandma’s house with my cousin, when my
grandma asks us to clean up the garden, but I cleaned alone. After I cleaned, I looked for my Causin and
saw him sitting on the couch, “Hey buddy, what are you doing?” I looked at the thing that he was
holding and I saw an incredible drawing of our cat, “hey, you drew that?”, “mm-hmm”. I was
speechless, I was going to get mad at him but instead, I said, “That’s One hell of an art”.
Life is hard but if you’re a person with ADHD life is harder. Those who have this disorder struggle more
than normal people, but they really try to blend in and avoid being an inconvenience to others, that is
why we should understand them and treat them equally, and avoid discrimination towards them.
