Anti-bribery & Corruption Tool Box Talk OBJECTIVE TO EXPLAIN WHAT COUNTS AS BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION WITHIN A BUSINESS AND HOW EVERYONE IN THE WORKPLACE IS ACCOUNTABLE FOR ENSURING THESE DO NOT OCCUR. THIS TALK WILL HELP EMPLOYEES BE AWARE OF THE COMMITMENTS SET OUT IN THE COMPANY’S ANTIBRIBERY AND CORRUPTION POLICY. What Do We Mean by Bribery & Corruption? Target: All operatives on site. Bribery and corruption have a detrimental impact on business by undermining good governance and distorting free markets. The UK Bribery act 2020 discourages Bribery and Corruption practices. It also introduced new general offences of offering and receiving a bribe with no exception of facilitation payments. The Act holds government officials, private organisations and individuals all accountable for acts of bribery and corruption. Everyone in the workplace is accountable What Are Our Commitments to Anti-Bribery & Corruption? We have issued a code of conduct policy outlining the company’s policy on preventing and prohibiting bribery. The code of conduct applies to all employees and they are required to familiarise themselves and comply with this policy. Employees and others acting for or on behalf of this company are strictly prohibited from making, soliciting or receiving any bribes or unauthorised payments. As part of its anti‐bribery measures, we are committed to engage only in transparent, proportionate, reasonable and bona fide hospitality and promotional expenditure. What Will Happen If You Breach This Code of Conduct? What Do We Expect of You? The company does not tolerate any form of bribery by, or of its employees or any person or companies acting for it or on its behalf. The directors and management are committed to implementing and enforcing effective systems to prevent, monitor and eliminate bribery, in accordance with the Bribery Act 2010 Employees and other individuals acting for the company should note that bribery is a criminal offence that may result in up to 10 years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine for the individual and an unlimited fine for the business. We will not conduct business with service providers, agents or representatives that do not support our anti‐bribery objectives. All employees and others acting for, or on behalf of the company are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the company directors. The directors will support any individuals who make such a report in good faith.
