skills.

Lesson Procedure
Procedure: What you and the learners will do
Greeting
•Begin by reviewing basic introductions, such as "Hello, how are you
today..." and "What is the date today".
•Check attendance of students.
Warm-up
Begin with a brief discussion about fairy tales. Ask students to share
their favorite fairy tales and what makes them interesting.
Lead in
Explain the concept of literature circles. Emphasize that students will
work in small groups, each with a specific role, to explore "Jack and
the Beanstalk" in-depth.
Assign Roles: Distribute the group roles handout, explaining each

Discussion (20 minutes):
Group Discussion: Have groups come together and discuss their assigned roles.
 Use the discussion director's questions as a guide, but encourage
organic conversation.
 Address plot events, character motivations, and any questions
that arise.
 The summarizer should provide a concise summary of the assigned portion.
Teacher Facilitation: Monitor group discussions, ask probing questions, and guide students toward a deeper understanding of the story.
Encourage evidence-based responses.
Analysis and Reflection (10minutes):
Individual Graphic Organizers: Provide graphic organizers for students to record information about characters, settings, and key events.
Distribute reflection worksheets.
Oral Reflection: Ask students to reflect on what they've learned so far.
What surprised them? What questions do they still have? Have students
reflect on the literature circle process. What did they learn from their
peers? What challenges did they face? How can they improve for future
literature circles?
Conclusion (5 minutes):
Discuss any themes or moral lessons present in the story. How do the
characters' actions relate to real-life situations?
HOME WORK
Assign a creative activity for homework, such as drawing their favorite
scene from the story or writing a short paragraph about what they would
do if they had magic beans.
