In the play Much ado about nothing by Shakespeare, Shakespeare presents women as people who don’t really want to marry the person they’re dancing with and kind off shows them as insecure and moody. For example the quote from Margaret: “ God match me with a good dancer” which shows that Margaret is insecure and doesn’t want to dance or marry someone with a mask on and someone she doesn’t know. There are more quotes such as the one from Hero : When I like your favor, for gold defend the lute should be like the case” This quote basically means that she won’t marry him or anything if she doesn’t see his face and that he needs to be handsome. This quote also show the insecurity of the women since they don’t know who they’re dancing with. The Audience can also laugh along because the women don’t know who they’re dancing with and the scene would be pretty humorous, this scene also shows how Shakespeare expanded the character’s personality.
