Working @ Height – Safety moment
Lets use our neighbours in Abu Dhabi as a
guide to the importance of Working @
Height safety Arrangements?
– 50% of surgical submissions to the main
hospitals in the Emirate state (2003 to 2005,
614 occupational injuries, ) related to falls and
falling objects,
– 50%, 307 injuries, related to falls
– Injured were Male Migrant workers aged
between 22 and 44
• Does this look and sound familiar?
• Obviously we don’t have figures for
Oman!
• What can we do to reduce our RISK?
– Get the basics right!

• All Sub contractors to be advised of the
expectations of HSE, particularly working
at height
