Inventions in the 1920s During the 1920s period, America’s economy grew dramatically, and is being called the age of prosperity. Because of it, lots of new inventions were invented to make our lives easier and more entertaining. Not as it symbolized in the 1920s, but it is built on the things we use daily nowadays. What do you do to cover your finger when you accidentally cut it, so it stops bleeding? I believe the first thing you might think is to use a band-aid, right? As you may not know, it was invented by a Johnson and Johnson employee in 1920 for his wife, who seemed to cut and burn herself regularly while cooking. The band was then produced massively by J&J and came out with a variety of different sizes and shapes. In 1927, the first electrical television was invented at this period. Although, other mechanical television was invented before electrical televisions, it was considered a success and became the ancestor of our modern electronic television. The 1920s also experienced the rise of the development of science and medicine. New immunization was developed to prevent people died of Diphtheria. The moral of less fat and meat and more fruits and vegetables became famous and it changed the way Americans consumed their food which made them became healthier. Radio also became a feature in each American home after being introduced in WWI. It has been used to broadcast news, stories, and political speeches. Nowadays, it’s still being used in our car or as a hand-held device so that you can go anywhere with its portability.
