Presentations will be in groups in week 14 of the Semester
Guidelines for Project Report and Presentation

Overview
All the students are required to complete the project work in this course. It carries 10
marks, divided into two parts: (1) Paper writing 10 Marks and (2) Presentation 5 marks.
The students are free to select any Mobile Computing research topic of their choice
and interest:
The following is a list of suggested topics but is not limited to,
1. IOT applications/ communication and computing issues / protocols
2. augmented reality
3. Energy-aware in heterogeneous network
4. Secure integration of IoT and cloud computing.
5. Vehicular Communication Networks
6. Fog computing applications and /or issues and concepts
7. Activity Recognition and Tracking in mobile computing
8. Context-aware Computing
9. Location-based Services and Applications
10. Trust, Reliability, Security, and Privacy in Mobile Computing Systems
11. Performance Evaluation of Mobile Computing Systems
Limits and Requirements.

From 2 to 4 students in a Group.

The length of the paper should be between 2000 to 4000 words.

At least 5 peer-reviewed references, including journals, communications and
transactions, published by the ACM, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier etc.

Paper outline
This is only a suggested outline, but your final outline must be coherent and effectively
convey the points you wish to make. The flow is important in order to emphasize on
key points in the mind of the reader.
 Title –Must convey what the paper is about, but must be very concise.






Introduction – must present the background and the context of the paper. What
is the subject area? What are the problems in this area that you are focusing in
the paper? What are the tools or technologies, which are discussing in this
paper?
Review of related literature – must identify how the same problems have been
addressed over the years through various tools or technologies and techniques.
An in-depth discussion of the chosen tools or technologies. May include a
discussion of the strengths and weaknesses of the chosen tools or technologies.
Follow up with either the case study or the comprehensive comparison with
alternative tools or technologies.
Conclusions – a chance to briefly emphasize your major points again. You may
also identify future directions here.
Paper and Presentation format
The paper should have a cover page given at the end followed by Project marking page
(also included here). Subsequent sections should be typed in TIMES NEW ROMAN,
font size 12, single line spaced.

Submission requirements

Online Submissions
i. Submit you projects electronically in PDF format only (1500 to 2000
words).
ii. The online submission will be through blackboard folder
iii. Project reports must be named using the following name convention:
IDnumber1_ IDnumber2_Project.pdf

Copying/Plagiarism
It is an academic requirement that your submitted work be original. If there is
any evidence of copying and pasting chunks of text from other documents and the
amount of direct copying exceeds 10% of the assignment, you will get -4 marks.
In other words, quoting several sentences and entire paragraphs is not allowed.
You must cite the reference properly.
