MATH 5
Name: ______________________________________
Grade:______________________________________
Date: ____________________
Section: ___________________
Quarter: 1 Week: 3 LAS No. 3
MELC(s:
1. find Least Common Multiple (LCM) of 2-4 numbers using continuous division.
2. determine which of the GCF or LCM is applicable for the given problem; and
_____________________________________________________________________________________
Lesson 1: Finding the Common Factors and GCF of 2-4 Numbers Using Listing Method and
Prime Factorization
Listing Method:
Step 1: List down pairs of numbers which give the product of the given number.
Step 2: Identify the common factors of the given numbers.
20: 1, 2, 4, 5, 10 and 20
16: 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16 Common factors of 20 and 16 are 1, 2, and 4
Step 3: Identify the greatest common factor.
Among the common factors of 20 and 16, 4 is the greatest/highest. So, the GCF of 20 and
16 is 4.
Prime Factorization:
Step 1: Find the prime factors of the given number.
Step 2: Identify the common prime factors of the given numbers. Prime factors of 20 and 16
Step 3: Multiply the common prime factors of the given numbers: 2 x 2 = 4 Therefore, the GCF of
20 and 16 is 4.
Direction: Find the GCF of the ff. set of numbers using listing method or prime factorization.
Lesson 2: Finding LCM of 2-4 Numbers Using Continuous Division
Direction: Find the LCM of the given sets of numbers
