While there are many different types of dolphins, most if not all are cruel. Dolphins are beloved by many for their cute appearance and how dog-like they seem to be. Swimming with dolphins is popular for a reason. However, as cute as they might seem on the outside, they are vicious. From killing babies to attacking other female dolphins, it isn’t such a good look. If you haven’t heard of a Porpoise before, they are fully aquatic animals that are genetically similar to narwhals and belugas. Unfortunately, these innocent animals are the victims of our vicious killer. After many porpoise babies were found washed up on Scotland shores with horrible injuries, scientists got worried. They thought it may have been a weapons test, until the teeth marks revealed it all; dolphins were the culprits. While dolphins are carnivores, they don’t eat porpoise. What is really happening is that they mistake the porpoise babies for other baby dolphins. If you weren’t aware, dolphins commit infanticide with most baby dolphins they see. They do this because the baby may not be theirs and so the female is ready to mate once again. So dolphins kill other baby dolphins and porpoise babies, it can’t get much worse, can it? Yes, it can. When a dolphin isn’t having fun with a beach ball or other toys of the like, they’ll play with baby nurse sharks as a make-shift volleyball. It truly is disgusting. Salvato 2 Moving on from the baby killing, male dolphins have been very aggressive with their female counterparts. Male dolphins will gather in groups of 2 or 3 to isolate one female dolphin and forcibly mate with her. They will be aggressive to keep her behaved, and if she tries to escape they will chase her down. This process can go on for up to weeks. This often means that the male dolphin won’t know if the baby dolphin is theirs, resulting in the male killing the baby and starting the process for the female again. There have been cases reported of dolphins getting aggressive with other humans as well. This year in July, 4 men on the beaches of Japan were attacked by dolphins all on the same day. One man had his ribs broken, another suffered bites and wounds. The last two were found with injuries. In Japan alone, there have been 6 attacks by dolphins, leaving people worried about their safety in swimming within the waters. Dolphins attack humans because they are trying to forcefully mate with them. They are the only other species, besides humans, that mate for enjoyment rather than procreation, which makes these attacks even possible. Dolphins are seen as cute, lovable mammals. However, these mammals have a dark side. They are vicious creatures who purposely kill other animals for their own enjoyment, while also harming the females of their own species by repeatedly putting them through violent situations. It should be no question as to why dolphins should be exterminated, they simply are unsafe for us and other species.
