Applying the system of measurements
Learning across curriculum:
II.
CONTENT
1) Math - Measurement and Conversion: In math,
students learn about different units of
measurement and how to convert between them.
This connects with TLE as students need to apply
the system of measurements in various technical
tasks.
2) Science - Experimental Procedures: In science,
students learn about conducting experiments and
following precise procedures. This connects with
TLE as students need to accurately measure and
record data in technical tasks.
3) Home Economics - Recipe Measurements: In
home economics, students learn about measuring
ingredients and following recipes. This connects
withLE as students need to apply accurate
measurements in cooking and food preparation.

followed by attendance using a class record or a
seat plan.
(2 minutes
Preliminary)
 Review the different hazards and risks in the nail
salon.
B. MOTIVATION
Interactive Quizzes
Instructional Materials: Quiz questions, whiteboard,
markers
1) Conduct a quiz where students compete in teams to
answer measurement-related questions. The team with
the highest score wins a prize.
2) Use the K-W-L chart to assess students' prior
knowledge about measurements. Start by asking what
they already know, what they want to learn, and what
they have learned after the lesson.
3) Play a video or show pictures of real-life scenarios
where measurements are used. Engage students in a
discussion about the importance of accurate
measurements in various fields.
C. ACTIVITY
"Measurement Olympics"
Teaching Strategy: Cooperative Learning
Materials: Measuring tapes, rulers, stopwatches,
measuring cups, weighing scales
Significance: This activity allows students to apply their
knowledge of measurements in a fun and competitive
setting.
Instructions:
1) Divide the class into groups and assign different
measurement tasks to each group (e.g., measuring the
length of a classroom, measuring the weight of objects,
measuring the volume of liquids).
2) Provide the necessary tools and set a time limit for
each task.
3) Each group will measure and record their results. The
group with the most accurate measurements wins.

hazards?
2) How can the identification of workplace hazards
contribute to preventing accidents and injuries?
3) What are some common workplace hazards that
students should be aware of?
E. ABSTRACTION
Lecture
The teacher will deliver a lecture on the different
types of workplace accidents and injuries that can
occur due to a lack of preventive precautions. The
