Abstract
Mobile Legends, a popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game, has captured
the hearts and minds of millions of players worldwide. While the game offers immersive
gameplay and competitive experiences, it has also given rise to a growing concern:
Mobile Legends addiction. This abstract delves into the multifaceted issue of addiction
to Mobile Legends and the tools available to address and mitigate its impact. Mobile
Legends addiction is a growing behavioral phenomenon characterized by compulsive
and excessive gaming behaviors. Players, driven by the immersive gameplay and a
desire for success in competitive matches, find themselves entangled in extended
gaming sessions. This addiction can have far-reaching consequences, impacting not
only the individual's life but also their relationships, mental well-being, and academic or
professional commitments. The Research specifically Aims To Evaluate The Mobile
Legends Addiction Among College Student is CASAP.

Addiction in Mobile Legends. To Gather Data wee Can face to face Interview a student
from School and ask them About Their Experience on Addicted on this Game.
Introduction
Mobile Legends is a popular mobile multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game
developed and published by Moonton. It was first released in 2016 and quickly gained a
massive player base, particularly in Southeast Asia. As of my last knowledge update in
January 2022, Mobile Legends had a significant following and a competitive esports
scene. People become addicted to games like Mobile Legends for a variety of reasons,
and it's important to understand that the level of addiction can vary from person to person.
Here are some factors that contribute to the addictive nature of games like Mobile
Legends mobile Legends, like many other games, employs reward systems that trigger
the release of dopamine in the brain. The anticipation of receiving rewards, such as ingame currency, new heroes, or cosmetic items, can be highly addictive. This creates a
feedback loop where players continue to play in pursuit of these rewards. Video games,
including Mobile Legends, offer an escape from the challenges and stresses of real life.
This form of escapism can be particularly appealing, as it allows players to temporarily
forget their problems and immerse themselves in a different world.
The reason for conducting a study on the experiences of students in CASAP is to Evaluate
every student in this school who has Addicted to Mobile Legends and how they overcame
it. Also, one of the reasons we conduct research is to Evaluate every student Who is
Addicted On this Game And Knowing The Effect on this Addiction On their Daily Life and
Their Academic Experience.
Statement of the Problem
This study aims to Evaluate the Mobile Legends addiction of senior high school
students in the Information and Communication Technology program at the College of
Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific Rodriguez Campus.
Specially, it seeks to answer the following:
1. What is the demographic profile of the respondents in terms of:
1.1 Name
1.2 Grade and Section
1.3 Age
2. What are the risk factors associated with being a Addicted to Mobile Game among
Senior High School students?
3. Why do students develop an addiction to Mobile Legends in terms of:
3.1 Escape from Reality
3.2 Sense of Achievement
3.3 Competition
What are The effect Of this Addiction In Senior Highschool Student On their Mental
Health and their Daily life?
What could be the reason why the students are addicted to playing Mobile legend?
Theoretical Framework
This study is anchored on the Mobile legends Theory of the National Library of Medicine
(2023) who pointed out Some people may become addicted to video games like Mobile
Legends due to the rewarding nature of gameplay. Mobile Legends is designed to provide
frequent dopamine hits through accomplishing goals, leveling up characters, and
obtaining rare items. This can lead to a dopamine loop where the brain craves more and
more gaming to get the same pleasurable dopamine rush from Mobile Legends. Over
time, this can develop into an addiction for some individuals.
Mobile Legends' intentional game design generates addictive gameplay through
predictable dopamine rushes, potentially leading to addiction in some users due to brain
chemistry and psychology.
This study is supported by the theory of Online Game Addiction to explain that
Karlsen(2013) conducted 12 interviews with online gamers (75% male, mean age 23±2.4
years) who play online games and used virtual ethnography75 in order to assess the
consequences of their excessive gaming. The results indicated that some of the players
experienced behavioral addiction symptoms as specified by Griffiths,13 namely salience,
mood modification, tolerance, withdrawal, conflict, and relapse, with the latter two
demarcating excessive from potentially addictive play. However, rather than advocating
current diagnostic frameworks for “pathologizing” gaming, Karlsen(2013) advocates to
view gaming excess from the vantage point of game structure and gaming context,
including the social practice and cultural meaning of games as well as the individual’s
connection to the game from the perspective of game and media studies. This
understanding entails a move away from the overly simplistic approach of focusing on the
psychological rewards that reinforce gaming to include an indepth exploration of gaming
motivations, gaming structure and mechanics, as well as the meaning of gaming for the
individual.
Karlsen's(2013) study on potential gaming addiction and his argument for taking a more
nuanced view of excessive gaming based on game context and personal meaning
rather than just medicalizing it as a pathology. His goal is to understand the broader
motivations and significance of gaming for individuals.
This study was founded on the theory of According to Kardefelt-Winther, D. (2014) people
who lack sufficient social support and human connection in real life may overuse online
games as a way to compensate for those unmet needs. This theory proposes that
addictive online gaming arises from individuals using online games to fill a void in social,
emotional, and psychological wellbeing addictive online gaming is a maladaptive coping
mechanism to deal with loneliness, lack of social support, low self-esteem, depression,
or other psychosocial problems in the real world. The online games provide an appealing
escape and feelings of achievement and social belonging that may be lacking in these
individuals' offline lives.
This article discusses the individuals who lack social and emotional support offline may
develop addictive online gaming behaviors to compensate for those unmet needs and as
an unhealthy coping mechanism for psychosocial problems in their real lives. The games
fill a void and provide escape, achievement, and social belonging.
