Week 1
When making any documentation, such as CAD drawings, it is critical that it is presented in a
neat and clean format. Furthermore, the format should be consistent between drawings and
projects. While a great template takes time to create, it only needs to be done once but can be
used repeatedly. We can save this format as a .DWT file for use of our future drawings.
This weeks CAD lab is to create a new template file with the following criteria:

8 ½” X 11” paper
Frame and title block are to be drawn in PAPER SPACE.
Use a separate layer for all features in the tile block and frame.
All geometry should be black and
Title block as per the example, completed with personal information such as name
Frame with grid markers (which can be personalized).
Revision table using the Table tool.

If you start 8.5X11 you can also create an 11X17 by modifying it to suit, but do not scale the
drawing as the text will be the incorrect size.
