Franklin D. Roosevelt was the 32nd President of the United States and the only president to serve more than 2 terms in office from 1933 to 1945. He was a well-respected leader who is known for his role in leading the country through some of its most challenging times, including the Great Depression and World War II. Prior to his presidency, Roosevelt served as the Governor of New York, where he gained a reputation for his progressive policies and his commitment to helping those in need. One of the biggest challenges that Roosevelt faced during his presidency was the Great Depression. The country was facing massive unemployment and economic instability, and Roosevelt knew that he needed to take bold action to address these issues. He came up with a series of programs and policies, known as the New Deal, which aimed to boost the economy and provide relief to those who were struggling. While some of these policies were controversial, they ultimately helped to pull the country out of the depression and set the stage for future economic growth. When comparing Roosevelt's presidency to that of the current President, President Biden, there are some significant differences. While Roosevelt was known for his progressive policies and his willingness to take bold action to address the country's challenges, President Biden has been criticized for not taking enough action. However, no matter these differences, they both took our country from a state of economic depression to a state of economic expansion. Biden spent a lot of his presidency after the Covid-19 depression hit. The Covid-19 depression resulted in very high unemployment and CPI (inflation) rates. Despite this, he rallied our economy and passed the Inflation Reduction Act which increased real GDP, wages, employment, stock market returns, and household net worth. Overall, Franklin D. Roosevelt led a presidency of leadership and helped America to progress in his time as president.
