As her body hit the waters, it was as if all the sounds around her stopped abruptly. The water was freezing cold. Even the temperature of the blood flowing through her body seemed to have dropped a few degrees from the first second. The cold waters engulfed her body in one swift movement. Like a mother hugging her child she hasn't seen in years, it wrapped around her and began to pull her in deeper. Her glasses had slipped from her nose due to the impact of hitting the water. Her bike was slowly descending into the depths of the water. It looked like it was floating in space as its wheels turned slowly. The lights of the street lamp at the end of the road were not enough to illuminate the bottom of the water. Because of that it was impossible for her to see where her bike and her little body were landing. It was like sinking into dark ink, slow and strongly. The tiny balloons escaped from her lips as she tried to shout, were flying towards the surface to save themselves. The arms she moved to pull herself up weighed several tons. Her thick black coat made it even harder for her to move. Her hair danced lightly around her head. Although they were originally ginger, they now looked pitch black. With their lazy and erratic movements, they looked like Medusa's snakes hissing around her head. It was as if she was being pulled down by the hands gripping her wrists. Her body wasn't listening to her, not allowing her to pull herself up into the light and the oxygen. The chain of the necklace she wore around her neck, saying that her mother would protect her, almost burned her skin.
