FABRICATION

Fabricate gutters, downspouts and collection boxes to profiles indicated.

Gutters: 4” half-round in configuration indicated by SMACNA Figure 1-3A.

Downspout Boots and Collection Boxes: aluminum.

Fabricate gutters to accommodate expansion. Provide expansion joint at maximum 50’
o.c.
F.
Form components to shape indicated on Drawings, accurate in size, square, and free
from distortion or defects. Form pieces in longest practical lengths.

Fabricate cleats and starter strips of same material as sheet, to interlock with sheet.
H.
Hem exposed edges on underside 1/2 inch ; miter and seam corners. Fabricate vertical
faces with bottom edge formed outward 1/4 inch and hemmed to form drip.
I.
Form material with soldier seams, except where otherwise indicated.
PART 3 EXECUTION

EXAMINATION
A.

Verify membrane termination and base flashings are in place, sealed, and secure.
INSTALLATION
A.
Secure gutters and downspouts in place using screw fasteners.
B.
Furnish gutter supports constructed of same metal as gutters, spaced at 3'-0" o.c. per
SMACNA plate 13, Chart 9.Apply plastic cement compound between metal work and felt
flashings.
C.
Fit components tight in place. Make corners square, surfaces true and straight in planes,
and lines accurate to profiles.
D.
Install gutters level.
E.
Connect downspouts to existing storm sewer system at Ground Floor level. Seal
connection watertight.
F.
Seal joints watertight.
