ABSTRACT
In its efforts to reduce the rate of too much reliance on Government jobs.
The Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN), Established the National
Directorate of employment in 1987. And was mandated to deal with the
rising trend of unemployment through training people in various technical
and vocational skills.
Worldwide, around 267 million youth between the ages of 15-24 are not in
employment, education or training.
UNESCO connects education to the fast-evolving world of work through its
promotion skills for work and life.
Technical and vocational education and training helps youth and adults to
develop the abilities, knowledge, values and attitude they need to find
decent work and contribute to building a peaceful, healthy, just and
sustainable world.
In the last 20 years, the National Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC) had
been actively involved in voluntary actions outside the statutory mandate,
as a corporate social responsibility to impact in the capacity development
of the youths (especially in skill acquisition) to complete favorably with their
counterpart around the globe.

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN
In Its effort to reduce the rate of unemployment and too much reliance on
government jobs, in 1987 National Directorate of employment was
established: the Directorate was mandated to deal with rising trend of
unemployment through training people in various skills.
Currently, there is ongoing Federal Government Program – National Skill
Qualification Framework launched by the Federal Government of Nigeria and
NBTE as regulatory body. NSQF is a system for the development,
classification and recognition of skills, knowledge and competency acquired
by individuals irrespective of where and how the training or skill was acquired.
In order to compliment the Federal Government effort, we therefore make the
necessary arrangement to participate in the implementation of this very
important, laudable and economic driven programme. We are set to secure
registration and accreditation as a vocational enterprise institution which the
requirements include among other things having:
1.
Physical facilities like classrooms, offices, laboratories and standard
workshop.
2.
Technical
and
administrative
staff
with
relevant
qualifications,
specializations and work experience.
3.
Funds for capital and recurrent expenditure

Productive Analysis
The core beneficiaries of any skill acquisition program are the participants,
therefore, the skill acquisition specialist should not expect much in return.
