Joyfully, Sarah Swartz For the TEACHER INCLUDED: • • • • Directions for the teacher Cover page 15 interview questions 15 interview questions (easy printing) SUGGESTED DIRECTIONS: These questions are great for students to think about and practice for future job interviews! Start, by having your students research one career they would like to pursue, and a company they could apply for this position at. This can be easy and fun homework/ entrance ticket if you are short on in-class time. Once students have determined the job they are applying for, they will answer the 15 job interview questions. I require my students to answer in at least 3 complete sentences per question to teach them to fill their answers with purpose. Now, if you want to go above and beyond, you can help prepare your students for these intense, high pressure situations by practicing with them in the classroom! Introducing → The Hot Seat The day of The Hot Seat came and my students were so nervous! (But really excited too)! All kiddos took turns practicing with their shoulder partners then I had students highlight 3 questions that they would prefer to be asked during their interview. That doesn’t mean those were the only questions I asked, but I tried to include 1-2 of their choice. Why is it called The Hot Seat? We placed one seat in front of the entire class! I collected all the interview question worksheets and randomly picked one student at a time to be interviewed in front of the whole class. Is that mean? NO! They understood that this high pressure situation was much like that of an interview and they rose to the challenge, it was AMAZING! My students walked away knowing they could nail any interview they came across! ABOVE AND BEYOND THE BEYOND: We also created resumes to bring to our job interviews. You could also have your kiddos practice dressing for the part!
