INTERNET USAGE POLICY
(DRAFT)
PURPOSE:
The purpose of this Internet Usage Policy is to establish guidelines and expectations for
the appropriate use of the college's internet resources by students, faculty, staff, and
authorized users. This policy aims to ensure the security, integrity, and responsible use
of the college's network and to protect its users from potential risks and legal implications.
POLICY:
Acceptable Use:
1. The college's internet resources should be used for educational, research, and
institutional purposes, in support of teaching, learning, and administrative
functions.
2. Users must comply with all applicable laws and college policies while using the
internet resources.
3. Users should respect the intellectual property rights of others and refrain from
engaging in any unauthorized or illegal activities, including but not limited to
copyright infringement, unauthorized access, or data manipulation.
4. Users should not use the college's internet resources for personal financial gain or
commercial activities without prior authorization.
Responsible Usage:
1. Users are expected to exhibit responsible and ethical behavior while using the
internet resources. This includes being respectful of other users and refraining
from engaging in any activities that may cause harm, harassment, or disruption to
individuals or systems.
2. Users should not engage in the creation, transmission, or distribution of offensive,
obscene, or sexually explicit materials through the college's internet resources.
3. Users must refrain from unauthorized attempts to access, disrupt, or interfere with
the college's network, data, or other systems.
Security:
1. Users must take necessary precautions to ensure the security of their accounts,
such as using strong passwords and not sharing them with others.
2. Users should not intentionally upload or spread malware, viruses, or any other
harmful programs via the college's internet resources.
3. Users should promptly report any suspected or actual security incidents, breaches,
or unauthorized access to the appropriate authorities.
Privacy:
1. The college respects the privacy of its users, but it retains the right to monitor and
access any information transmitted or stored through its internet resources, as
necessary and permitted by applicable laws.
2. Users should not attempt to access or disclose confidential or private information

Consequences:

agreement to comply with this Internet Usage Policy. Failure to comply with this policy
may result in disciplinary actions and legal consequences.
