Doodle notes are a form of visual note-taking that embeds brain-based research elements such as dual-coding theory. Dual coding theory emphasizes the use of mental images to aid learning. Therefore, I include visual memory triggers and coding activities that engage the brain and boost retention throughout my notes. Learn more about the powerful Doodle Note™ method by visiting doodlenotes.org. WAYS TO USE MY DOODLE NOTES I design my doodle assignments to be versatile. Below are just some suggestions on how you can use the notes in your classroom. INTERACTIVE NOTEBOOK Placing the notes side-by-side allows for optimal viewing within interactive notebooks. However, to save paper, you can easily copy the notes front-toback to print onto one page. The notes will fit into a standard notebook or binder. You can reduce the size of the notes by 8085% to fit in a composition book. The picture to the right shows an example print setup. Printers will vary. Therefore, make sure to test print the size before running copies for your class. DIGITAL USE Although doodle notes are best in a paper format, I have included a color copy of the notes for use with digital pdf editors such as Easel by TPT or Kami. Please note, as stated in my terms of use, you may only use applications that allow your students access (not the general public). BULLETIN BOARD DISPLAY My doodle notes make an excellent display for bulletin boards! To help with motivation, I tell the students ahead of time that stellar examples receive extra credit and get hung up for display! LINK TO Slideshow Follow the steps below to receive the slideshow.
