IGCSE / GCSE certificate
1- MOHE conditions and certificate requirements:
•
Students must achieve 12 years of schooling.
• IGCSE students must pass in 8 IGCSE subjects (not repeated). Focusing on the qualifying
subjects for each school.
•
The 8 subjects are selected from the last four years before joining the university.
•
The subjects must be “extended” not “core” curriculum
•
OL subjects don’t include (Religion – Arabic 2nd language or Arabic only - physical educationYearbook Music, ..etc).
•
Some subjects can be counted as two separate subjects while selecting the 8 subjects:
o
English language and English literature
o
Biology and Human Biology.
o
Computer Science and Information Technology
2- The required subjects can be counted as follow (not repeated subjects):
•
8 O level Subjects
•
6 O level and 2 AS level
•
4 O level and 4 AS level
•
7 O level and 1 AS level
o
For Medical Schools, subjects must include the following qualifying 5 subjects: Biology,
Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and English.
o
For Social studies schools the qualifying subjects are Mathematics & English.
o
For School of Information technology:
•
Applicant must pass 9 subjects (Math section)
o
Applicant must pass the following 5 Qualifying subjects: English or English Literature,
Mathematics, Advanced Math* (AS or AL), Physics and Chemistry
o
Applicant must pass any 4 subjects additional to the 5 qualifying subjects (above): EX:
Biology (if it is not a qualifying subject), Arabic 1st Language, Geography, Accounting ….. etc
•
Applicant must pass 8 subjects (Science section)
o
Applicant must pass the following 5 Qualifying subjects: English or English Literature,
Mathematics, Biology, Physics and Chemistry
o
Applicant must pass any 3 subjects additional to the 5 qualifying subjects (above): EX: Arabic
1st Language, Geography, Accounting ….. etc

Inside Egypt:
• British Council Golden stamp
•
General Department of Examinations in Egypt
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt.
Outside Egypt:
• British Council Golden stamp
• The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Egypt.
Proof of 12 years of schooling:
• If the school is inside Egypt, then the required stamps are: School stamp and the Ministry of
High Education ‫اإلدارة التعليمية التابعة للمدرسة‬
• If the school is outside Egypt then the required stamps are: School stamp, Ministry of High
Education in the country of the school, the country embassy and the Ministry of Foreign affairs
in Egypt.
Arabic & Religion exams paper:
•
If the school is inside Egypt, then the required stamps are: General Examinations Department
in Egypt.
•
If the school is outside Egypt then the required stamps are: School stamp, Ministry of High
Education in the country of the school, the Egyptian embassy in the country of the school and
the ministry of foreign affairs in the country of the school.
